Like my Barn & Silo landscape painting, this simple still-life was developed from a plein-air sketch I did a couple of years ago while spending two weeks alone in a cabin. Bananas on a counter under harsh track lighting.
This second version allowed me to further explore my fascination with purple shadows and complimentary color combinations. I know Warhol made the banana famous, but the greens in this bunch were irresistible to me and besides, its the one food I eat every single day!
